eLogic Network - The Basics
A Network consists of two or more organizations that are linked in order to share resources, data, referrals, files, electronic communications and other interests. The eLogic Network connects organizations' databases to each other and allows clients to obtain services from multiple entities while providing an unduplicated count for different levels of reporting.
The eLogic Network also allows different agencies and their databases to interact with each other without sharing protected client information. It provides interoperability between parent databases (ie: the State) and child databases (ie: agencies) and connects them while also keeping them in different roles.
While child agencies can inherit the “parent’s DNA”, each can still customize eLogic Genesis to accommodate their own needs and maintain ownership of their own data.
Source: Inherit / Source: Own - The Basics
Source: Inherit / Source: Own help organizations maintain their own centralized database while still being able to share certain items across multiple child agencies, ensuring uniformity in data standards and reporting.
In an eLogic Network, all connected agencies are linked to a singular administrative entity. This top level or parent agency can pass down data elements such as demographics, services, and reports to each child agency within their network. Child agencies can inherit those data elements and collect the information in the same manner as the parent agency. The parent can then report aggregated information from across their network or an individual agency.
When Source: Inherit is shown, both the parent agency's items and your agency's items are shown.
When Source: Own is shown, only your agency's items are shown.
The Source button can be toggled between Inherit and Own at any time; no historical data will be removed or lost when changing the Source.
It is very important to note that the Source: Inherit / Source: Own selection is appropriate for your organization as this is the "On/Off switch" for what items are available in client profiles. If an agency administrator were to set services to Source: Own, no parent agency services will be available in client profiles, only services that are owned by their agency.
If you have any questions regarding maintaining data integrity, please do not hesitate to contact the eLogic Team for guidance.
