Browser Cache - The Basics
eLogic Genesis performs best when using the Google Chrome web browser
Internet browsers have caches that store website data so pages can load faster. When you clear your cache, you are removing old temporary files to make room for new temporary files. In the case of web-based software, like eLogic Genesis, these temporary files contain the version of software you are currently using.
If you notice that something in Genesis is not working properly, first try refreshing the page. If issues persist, clear your cache to see if that resolves the problem before reaching out to support.
Note: Clearing your cache will have no effect on data stored in the system.
Clear Browser Cache Using Your Keyboard
Be sure you have Genesis pulled up in the Google Chrome browser on your screen
- Windows/PC Users: On your keyboard, press CTRL and F5 at the same time
- Mac Users: On your keyboard, press SHIFT + CTRL + DELETE at the same time
Page will reload and your cache will be cleared!
Note: Clearing your cache will have no effect on data stored in the system.
Clear Browser Cache Without Keyboard (tablet)
Tablet users: Don't have a keyboard? No problem! Be sure you have Genesis pulled up in the Google Chrome browser on your screen

Empty Cache and Hard Reload
When standard cache clearing isn't enough, an eLogic Genesis team member may ask you to "Empty your cache and do a hard reload". Think of this as a "deep clean" that checks the nooks and crannies of your cache to be sure it is cleared completely.
- On your keyboard, press F12
- A side panel will expand from the right
- Next, right click on the page refresh button near the top left corner
- Select "Empty Cache and Hard Reload" from the drop-down list
- Your screen will refresh
- Press F12 again to close the side panel
Note: Clearing your cache will have no effect on data stored in the system.
Clear Browser Site Data
When using "Empty Cache and Hard Reload" isn't enough, we may instruct you to clear your browser's site data.
Clearing your site data is the most thorough way to ensure that all new software features have made it into your browser. Keep in mind that this is not something that needs to be done regularly.
Do the following to clear your site data:
1. Press F12 on your keyboard - a side panel will expand from the right
2. Click the Application tab
3. Click Clear Storage in the side panel
4. Click Clear site data
4. Press F12 to close the side panel
Note: Clearing your site data will have no effect on data stored in the system.
