What's the Difference Between a Scale Service and a Quick Service?
A scale service is a service that is associated with an outcome on a social determinant scale and has the potential to improve a client's well-being and cause a positive movement on that particular scale. An example of a scale service would be "On the job training" as the provision of the service could improve a client's Employment well-being by expanding their professional skill set.
A quick service is a service that is not associated with any social determinant scale of well-being and the provision of such services is not tracked to measure potential outcome movement. What organizations designate to be a quick service can vary depending on what outcomes the organization measures. Some quick service examples are "Access to computer lab", "Case management", or "Food pantry", depending on the organization and the scales used to assess clients.
Rule of thumb:
- Scale Service = tracks movement
- Quick Service = does not track movement
Why Can't I Assign a Quick Service via Assessment History?
Because quick services are not associated with social determinant scales of well-being, they do not apply to scale services and are housed instead under the Services tab.
